The VR5940 combines a DVD recorder, progressive scan DVD player, and a four-head hi-fi VCR into an attractive unit with a suggested retail price of about $350.

The VR5940's DVD recorder can record to the four most common recordable DVD formats, DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW. It also can record to standard VHS tape, even when the DVD player is playing a disc.
