GoVideo VR4940 VCR/DVD recorder

Date Published: 2/27/08

The VR4940 is part of GoVideo's Dual Deck line of multifunction devices. An all-in-one DVD recorder, progressive scan DVD player, and VCR, the VR4940 is ideal for recording TV shows and transferring VHS home movies to DVD, as well as watching the latest DVD releases.

The VR4940 offers one-touch recording to write-once DVD-R or rewriteable DVD-RW. Progressive scan playback provides a superior quality picture when the VR4940 is connected to a digital TV via its component video outputs. The player is compatible with DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, and VCD, as well as audio formats such as CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3 digital audio files burned to disc. Insert a JPEG image CD or Kodak picture CD and the VR4940 will create a digital slideshow of your images.

The EZ Play function automatically skips ads and trailers at the start of a DVD movie and gets you straight into the main feature. Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound signals can be routed to a home theater receiver via the VR4940's optical digital audio output, and the player can simulate surround sound through stereo speakers. The four-head VCR is compatible with VHS cassettes. Other features include an eight-event, 1-month timer and a handy multibrand remote control.
