General Electric 30-Inch Self-Cleaning Oven with Convection JT912
Date Published: 12/15/08
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with GE Consumer & Industrial, announced a voluntary recall of the JT912. The extreme heat used in the self-clean cycle can escape, if the wall oven door is removed and incorrectly re-attached by the installer or the consumer. This can pose a fire and burn hazard to consumers. Consumers should immediately inspect the oven to make sure they do not have an incorrectly re-attached wall oven door, which will not open into the flat position. If the wall oven door is incorrectly re-attached, consumers should not use the self-clean cycle and call GE for a free repair. Consumers can continue to use normal baking or broiling function in the oven until the oven is repaired.

The JT912 is a 30-inch single convection oven from GE that is a popular choice because it is spacious and works so well in kitchen designs.
Available in all the major appliance colors, you'll find the JT912 in black, white, bisque, or stainless steel. In addition to looking great, this model offers enhanced performance for both baking and roasting.
Bakers will appreciate the consistent results achieved with this unit's convection feature. In this oven, as in all ovens with convection, air circulates throughout the oven producing evenly browned baked goods. Because hot air is circulated around the foods, three racks of cookies, muffins, or layer cakes can be baked without the usual problem of pans blocking the heat. This hot air also aides in roasting large cuts of meat. It speeds the process by up to 25 percent, browns the surface of the food, and better seals in the meat juices.
Convenient and versatile controls are offered on this oven, making programming it as pleasant as eating the foods it produces. Equipped with sophisticated yet easy-to-use electronics, this model will automatically convert your favorite recipes to convection.
Even the meat thermometer is automatic. Simply plug it into the oven, slide it into the meat, and the oven will shut off when the desired temperature has been reached. The timer system in this unit allows variable time self-cleaning, delay shutoff, and cook-and-hold. Variable settings are also provided for broiling, allowing individuals to customize this setting to various foods and degrees of doneness.
Sophisticated performance and advanced design all come together in the General Electric JT912, a can't-miss oven from GE.
