General Electric 27-Inch Single Electric Wall Oven JKP25SHSS

Date Published: 4/29/08

A lustrous stainless-steel appliance like the General Electric 27-Inch Single Electric Wall Oven JKP25SHSS is a sure-fire way to bring new life to a tired kitchen. Perfect for replacing an older unit, this unit will spark up the decor of your cooking area in no time.

The features of this model are convenient and quite standard for today's stainless-steel replacement models. Self-clean, electronic controls and accurate temperature control with good heat distribution, all work together to make this model an excellent choice.

In addition to these common features, this model offers some additional conveniences that are sure to make cooking for a busy family just a bit easier. Take for example, the delay bake option with cook & hold. This feature allows you to start the oven while you're still out running errands and then keep today's casserole warm until even the latest family member arrives for dinner.

A variable broil features expands broiling your options so more foods than just the basic steak will come out just the way you like them. Those in a hurry to clean the oven will appreciate the light cleaning cycle that whisks away small soils and quickly returns the oven to ready status. A preheat signal and a temperature display keep you well informed, so you know exactly when it's appropriate to put your recipes in. This model includes a clock and a timer and can be used for broiling with the door closed.

Versatile enough for under-counter installation, this model can be used in a lower cabinet. Due to its width, however, it doesn't lend itself to use under a 30-inch cooktop. Install it with countertop above or stick with a traditional upper wall or cabinet. If stainless steel is not your choice, refer to your GE dealer or their website for similar models in black, white, or bisque.

Pro: excellent 27" choice with all the options
Con: lacks the more expensive convection feature
