The CDJ-01 CD player from Gemini Sound Products was designed for professional DJs, but it will serve admirably for anyone who wants to experiment at home--getting in touch with their inner mix-master, no doubt. While this might seem like a high price for a single-disc CD player, the CDJ-01 is actually an entry-level component in the DJ mix world. Whatever it is used for, it's a very good CD player.
One feature that will be appreciated by DJs and most musicians is a variable pitch control, which can speed up or slow down CD playback by 4, 8, or 16 percent. Making mix compilations or matching tempos or pitch between sources won't be a problem, as a pitch bend allows the speed and pitch to be momentarily adjusted. The CDJ-01 also has a loop and reloop feature that will sample a portion of the playback sound and repeat it.
The CDJ-01 powers up instantly, so there's no lag time in playback. A digital output is included for the best-sounding connection to other audio equipment. The frequency response is from 20Hz to 20,000Hz, with a signal-to-noise ratio of over 96dB.Warranty
