The ShredMaster Guardian paper shredder from GBC isn't going to meet the needs of a busy office. But it is a good-looking unit that will work well for those needing no more than several shredding passes per day.

The ShredMaster Guardian can handle 5-6 sheets per pass, but you'll need to be sure your paper is closely aligned, as the paper shredder's throat opening is 8.75 inches. The unit creates crosscut shreds measuring about 5/32X1-1/2 inches, which is good for a light-duty paper shredder. The ShredMaster Guardian can handle up to 10 shredding passes per day, but it cannot shred any object larger than a staple.

GBC only offers a 5-year warranty on the cutter with the ShredMaster Guardian, and its $59 price tag includes a wastebasket. You also can mount the ShredMaster Guardian on the wall, which is handy.
