The chunky 2.4 tires deliver excellent grip although the 100mm Manitou Splice Comp fork may be too soft for some riders. You'll likely want to make other upgrades for serious riding, especially replacing the Bontrager crankset, but even with stock components this is a bike designed to be ridden just about anywhere.
