Gary Fisher Mullet Mountain Bicycle

Whether you're dirt jumping, street riding or busting a cross country trail, the Bigg'ns 6061 strait-gauge aluminum frame on the Gary Fisher Mullet with reinforced headtube and cold-forged dropouts make this a robust hardtail mountain. The Hayes MX-2 mechanical disc brakes with 8 inch front rotor and 6 inch rear provide great stopping power in any weather. The chunky 2.4 tires deliver excellent grip although the 100mm Manitou Splice Comp fork may be too soft for some riders. You'll likely want to make other upgrades for serious riding, especially replacing the Bontrager crankset, but even with stock components this is a bike designed to be ridden just about anywhere. It's light enough for cross country riding but strong enough to withstand dirt jumping. For beginner and intermediate riders, this is a good choice of freeride bike. Priced at little more than $650, the Gary Fisher Mullet is also a good value hardtail mountain bike.
