In this top-loader, you get the typical three temperature combinations: hot/cold, warm/cold and cold/cold -- certainly enough variety to wash just about anything. We liked that in addition to these three temperature selections, the GLWS1339C offered two of the most sought after step-up features: an extra rinse option and an auto-soak for stains and set-in dirt.

Other features that consumers will appreciate include the water level adjustment and automated dispensers for both bleach and fabric softener. The water level adjustment allows you to match water level to load size, thus cutting down on unnecessary water usage. The two dispensers add bleach and fabric softener to the load at just the right time, so you don't have to interrupt the wash to add them yourself. If you've been using these products with an older washer, you will come to appreciate the convenience these dispensers offer.

Thirteen cycles and options work for just about everything you could need to wash. Particularly useful is the hand wash setting. It's perfect for those items that require the gentler care that this two-speed washer provides.

Although this washer -- at 3.0 cubic feet of interior capacity -- is smaller than some other models, the difference is negligible, so you could wash a hefty load of laundry with this model without concern.
