Frigidaire FEB30S5 electric oven
Date Published: 1/16/08
In a world crowded with overpriced wall ovens, Frigidaire's FEB305S remains a shining star. Luckily for buyers, this model is attractive and functional as well as at the lower end of the price scale.
A perfect choice for a new or remodeled kitchen, this model works within most budgets and looks and cooks great. Feature-wise, the FEB30S5 has all the basics you need to prepare meals for your family. It bakes and roasts, and has a broiler with not one, but two settings. The capacity is comparable to any other 30-inch single electric oven, so you will be able to cook a holiday bird, as well as all the trimmings, in this model.
When it comes to ease of operation and cleaning, the FEB30S5 meets all of our expectations for an oven of this type. In fact, we were quite pleased with the self-cleaning cycle and the easy-to-set electronic, digital controls. When it comes to good looks, this oven adds a sleek, up-to-date look any kitchen. You'll find it available in white, black, bisque or stainless steel. If you prefer stainless steel, be prepared to pay more than $100 extra for this option.
Certainly there are ovens on the market that are more durably built and ones with more sophisticated technology, but they are also more expensive. Frigidaire's FEB30S5 looks great and packs a lot of bang for the buck.
Pros: Attractive glass or stainless-steel door, electronic controls, offers all the basic functions
Cons: Lacks more expensive features such as halogen lights, convection and oven presets
