Frigidaire's FGF337E is a reasonably priced gas range that is available in black, white and stainless steel. Contrary to what you may find on the internet, the FGF337E is an all-gas model, not a dual-fuel range. It offers gas burners, a gas oven and a separate gas broiler in the lower drawer. Electricity is required to operate this range, but only for the electronic ignition, which is a very common requirement of gas ranges.

What sets the FGF337E apart from other models is its affordability, especially when purchased with a stainless-steel finish. Although stainless at this price ($699) is an incredible find, you should be aware that the FGF337E lacks a self-cleaning oven, so be prepared to use some elbow grease when cleaning time comes around.

Another common feature missing from the FGF337E is a main-oven broiler. If you don't mind bending down to broil in the lower drawer or don't broil too often, this may not be much of an inconvenience. On the other hand, if you're like most buyers, you'll want to spend a bit more for a range with the broiler in the main cavity.

On the plus side, the FGF337E offers sealed gas burners with cast-iron grates. Unlike the open burners found on many budget ranges, these sealed burners don't require much in the way of disassembly for cleaning. The cast-iron grates are heavier and more durable than less-expensive steel ones, and they also prove to be less prone to scratching and damage during cleaning.

For surface cooking, the FGF337E has one high-power 12,000-Btu burner and three more pedestrian 9,500-Btu burners. The high-power burner is ideal for fast boiling and high-heat tasks like stir-frying. The electric ignition effortlessly lights the burners.

This is an attractive and affordable range. However, if you want a self-cleaning oven and a main-oven broiler, the Frigidaire FGF337E isn't the one for you.
