Fisher-Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing G8661
Date Published: 6/26/08
Looking for a swing that a baby won't outgrow in a few short months? The Fisher-Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing G8661 may just fit the bill.
This swing accommodates infants from birth to 25 pounds, easily changes to an infant seat, and converts to a toddler rocker that can be used by children weighing up to 40 pounds. When used as a swing, it has two swing speeds, plays five songs, and has a removable toy bar. As an infant seat, it has a soothing rocking motion; it also has a stabilizing mechanism to prevent movement. We find the infant seat is handy for meal times and provides a way to conveniently feed a baby his or her first foods. Our toddler tester liked the ability of this swing to convert into a rocking chair just the right size for reading a book or watching a favorite show.
While we like the swing's open design that allows parents to place a baby in the swing without fear of bumping the baby's head, we missed having a snack tray and more substantial toy bar. However, knowing the Fisher-Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing will outlast other swings in its class makes up for any toy bar shortcomings. When not in use, the swing's sturdy frame folds for storage.
Despite reservations about the speed and ease with which we could convert the Fisher-Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing, we did find the conversion handles simple to use. We appreciate this swing's ability to multi-task, whether as an infant seat or as a toddler's rocking chair.
