If you need a vacuum to gobble up pet hair, the Euro-Pro Infinity Pet Care System is it. The bagless Infinity NV31 Pet Care System vacuums pet hair like a pro, using powerful suction and rotating bristles. It also easily removes the usual suspects -- dust, grime and other particles -- from carpet. The Infinity even comes equipped with edge bristles to ensure it cleans close to baseboards, furniture and carpet-meets-wall edges. Five carpet-height adjustments allow one to choose the option that will work best with any carpet pile.

The Infinity Pet Care System has a special attachment that pairs its constant suction with a Pet Hair Power Brush. We like this brush attachment because it acts as a miniature vacuum (it even has its own belt inside). The rotating bristles agitate and loosen pet hair, while the vacuum whisks it away. It works well on carpets and upholstery, but we put it through its paces when we attempted to vacuum long cat hair partially embedded into carpeted stair risers. Where other vacuums failed, the Infinity Pet Care System succeeded in removing this pet hair, most often on the first pass and always by the second swath. The Infinity Pet Care System also comes with a low-reach bare floor brush, crevice tool, dusting brush and upholstery brush. All the attachments perform well, and we particularly like the dusting brush because it eliminates an extra dusting chore; we can simply use the dusting brush to dust baseboards and windowsills as we vacuum. The bare floor brush is soft, won't scratch floors and is low enough to go under furniture. All the attachments store onboard, except the bare floor attachment and Pet Hair Power Brush, so Infinity included a handy storage bag.

The Infinity Pet Care System takes many of the best features of a bagless system and adds a number of thoughtful extras to create a winning design. There is a telescopic tube that recesses into the vacuum's handle. Accessories can be attached to this tube, or directly to the vacuum handle/hose. This option makes it easier to vacuum a lampshade versus a ceiling fan. There is an additional carrying handle on the top of the vacuum body, and this provides a convenient place to grab when moving the vacuum down the stairs or relocating it while using the attachments. We also like the view-through collection canister. It's easy to keep track of its capacity, and fun to see everything we're vacuuming from the carpets (talk about a sense of accomplishment!). Best of all, the canister is simple to remove and empties without making a mess. The Infinity has a lifetime HEPA filter that doesn't clog and doesn't require frequent washing. When it is washed, however, it should dry for 24 hours. Thoughtfully, a second HEPA filter is included with the initial purchase, along with an extra belt.

Other design elements we like? A 30-foot power cord offers plenty of mobility, there is a guard on the front of the main vacuum head to protect furniture and baseboards, and a built-in headlight illuminates dark corners. Another feature we applaud is the ability to turn the bristles on the main vacuum head on and off. Being able to turn these bristles off for delicate rugs or when using attachments adds an extra measure of protection. There's even a view-through window so that one can tell -- at a glance -- whether the main bristles are turned on or off.

The fact that the Infinity Pet Care System is outfitted in an attractive ruby-red color is the cherry on top. Overall, we give the Infinity Pet Care System our highest marks for performance, ease of use, features and price.
