A lightweight vacuum that's more than a stick but less than an upright, the Eureka 409B makes a great starter vacuum for a new apartment dweller or an excellent supplemental machine for quick pickups in a larger home.

Although lightweight, it is bulkier and more substantial than a typical stick. It also feels much more like an upright in that it is comfortable to use and easy to maneuver. Because of its sturdier build, it can be used as an only vacuum and not just for quick pickups.

The major disadvantage to this model is its low amperage. Drawing just 2 amps of current, you can't expect very powerful suction to follow. Easy to empty, this model offers a dust cup for dirt collection; no bags are needed. The cord wraps around the machine for neat and easy storage. The telescopic handle can be adjusted for storage or easier use by those of varying heights.

Appropriate for both carpet and hardwood floors, the Eureka 409B  has a motorized brushroll with an on/off switch.
