Eureka! Freedom family tent
Date Published: 5/15/06
The Eureka! Freedom is a large two-person tent that is specially designed for some family campers, but will be appreciated by all.
Most tents have small doors with low entry height. These can be difficult for campers with physical disabilities. The three-season Freedom is designed with a large zipperless door that is wheelchair accessible, a large interior volume, and quick set up.
Although it is a dome-style tent, it has a tapered rectangular shape that provides large interior volume. Moreover, it offers a large vestibule that can shelter wheelchairs, bicycles, baby strollers, and other gear. This tent is ruggedly built with five poles; the tent has pole sleeves that are continuous, making it easy to slide the poles through the sleeves, from one side of the tent. Moreover, grommets are used to receive the poles on both sides.
The self-standing tent can be pitched by one person, from a seated position, by flexing the poles within the sleeves. The rainfly is factory taped, and the floor uses a bathtub design with seams up off the ground. Two combination windows and doors also allow side entry into the interior volume as well as added ventilation. Mesh in the ceiling further increases ventilation and also reduces condensation. The front door and windows have zippered covers for weather protection and privacy; pull handles allow easy operation. The package includes stuff sack, stakes, and guylines.
The Eureka! Freedom is designed for campers with limited mobility, offering setup, access, and use by anyone.
