Dyson Root8Cyclone DC07
Date Published: 2/17/03
The Dyson DC07 is the original bagless vacuum.
James Dyson is the father of the bagless category. He invented cyclone technology, which eliminates the need for vacuum bags and provides a powerful, continuous suction force to clean carpets better and more efficiently than "traditional" vacuum cleaners.
Dyson's invention became the top-selling vacuum cleaner in Western Europe and occupied nearly half of the UK market share, where it originated. The Dyson upright was introduced to the U.S., first at The Terence Conran Shop in New York and then nationwide.
Besides being the original bagless vacuum, what makes the Dyson special is its Root8Cyclone technology, which subjects dirt and debris to a powerful centrifugal force to continually push dirt and debris to the outer edges of the plastic bin. This means there is no obstruction to the airflow, and suction power remains constant. Vacuums with bags rely on the bag to hold back the dust, while other bagless vacuums rely on a filter to trap the dust--both of which eventually become clogged and restrict airflow, causing less suction and, as a result, decreased performance.
The Dyson Cyclone is a powerhouse performer with numerous convenience and performance attributes. The permanent HEPA filter traps minute particles and allergens and is complimented by a Bactisafe screen to trap and kill bacteria, mold, and other germs. Another plus to this innovative design is a quick-draw hose, which easily snaps off the unit's body and can be stretched 17 feet to reach the top of stairs, in corners, or under furniture.
Other features include automatic height adjustment, brush-roll shutoff for safe cleaning on delicate rugs or hard surfaces, and a trap-door-design, easy-empty dust cup, which empties dirt from the bottom by simply pulling the trigger on top. For the ultimate in easy maneuverability, the unit features a long cord and is configured to weigh just 4 pounds at the handle, light enough for anyone to use with ease.
The Dyson DC07 vacuum is a design perfected by a tireless inventor and is well worth the investment for almost any home with carpeted and/or bare floors.
