While many head units claim to be XM-ready, the Dual XMP7000 is a true satellite radio receiver. The XMP7000 is a CD head unit that comes with an XMDirect tuner, so an XM subscription is all that is required to hit the road with XM's 150-plus channels.

The built-in amplifier offers 22 watts (continuous) into four channels. The CD player has random and repeat playback, and it is compatible with CD-R/RW, but it will not play MP3 or WMA files. The head unit also has an AM/FM tuner. The XMDirect system allows for the main faceplate to display channel, song and artist.

This single-DIN unit has five equalizer presets to enhance pop, jazz, classic, beat, and rock, and there are also more generic bass and treble controls.
