The Dirt Devil Vision with Power Nozzle sports a chic blue color and has a compact design for easy storage. It weighs only 10 pounds and boasts bagless technology (no need to budget for replacement bags). The view-through collection tank lets the user know -- at a glance -- if it needs to be emptied. And, with its roomy capacity, the collection tank doesn't need emptied before large vacuuming jobs are complete. Unlike many models we've tested, the Dirt Devil doesn't lose suction as the collection canister fills.

Wondering when the "power nozzle" comes into play? As soon as the "on" switch activates, the power nozzle's motorized brushes go into motion. The motorized brush roll has a six-position height adjustment. The brush roll can be turned off when needed. We would prefer a wider cleaning path than the 10-inch nozzle offers, but this is a relatively minor complaint in light of the Vision's other winsome qualities.

The Dirt Devil Vision has a variable suction control located on the handle, which is a nice addition. We found this feature particularly useful when cleaning curtains or delicate area rugs. It's a relief to be able to thoroughly dust curtains without sucking them into the vacuum nozzle.

The Dirt Devil Vision comes with a full set of onboard tools, including a crevice tool, dusting brush, upholstery tool and turbo brush. The turbo brush is especially useful when it comes to picking up dog and cat hair. We tested the turbo brush on a variety of surfaces, ranging from upholstery to carpeted stairs. In each case, it tackled pet hair and cleared it with ease. We also were pleased with the way the Dirt Devil Vision's main nozzle picked up pet hair, but we discovered the areas where pets spend the most time really required the turbo brush.

The tools nest aboard the Dirt Devil's wand, and this placement sometimes poses a problem. We discovered that when cleaning under furniture or in tight spaces, the tools got in the way.

This model has a 20-foot retractable power cord and telescoping wand, which are nice additions. We also like its built-in HEPA filter, which helps keep dust and allergens from returning to the air. The Dirt Devil Vision Canister with Power Nozzle M082750CA is a feature-rich cleaning tool efficient enough to replace an upright vacuum. We only wish the tools stored on the canister, rather than the wand.
