Dirt Devil Vibe M091020V upright vacuum
Date Published: 4/27/07
When it comes to budget-priced vacuums with lots of suction, Dirt Devil's bagged unit, the Vibe M091020V, is a real winner. We can't stop bragging about the suction power and incredible low price of this upright vacuum.
While many buyers are scooping up inexpensive bagless vacuums, some consumers are disillusioned with the amount of dirt that escapes and the resulting mess of emptying them. For those who've had it with bagless models, we suggest this bagged upright, the Dirt Devil Vibe.
The Vibe M091020V does a decent job of pulling lots of dirt and pet hair from carpets. It also comes with a removable hose and plenty of tools for crevices and upholstery cleaning. These tools ride conveniently along on board. The only problem with them is they have a tendency to fall off as you clean.
A good choice for cleaning carpet, we wouldn't recommend this unit for vacuuming floors because the brushroll cannot be turned off. For this feature, you'll likely need to look to a more expensive model. As we mentioned, Vibe's suction is excellent, but because it's so strong, it has a tendency to pick up lighter weight area rugs. We'd recommend that with the Vibe, you stick to vacuuming wall-to-wall carpeting and heavier, secured area rugs.
We feel very comfortable recommending Dirt Devil's Vibe M091020V to those shopping the budget, upright category because it is easy to assemble, inexpensive and readily available on the market.
Pros: Lots of suction, ride-on tools and hose, cleaner than a bagless
Cons: No brushroll switch, tools fall off, requires replacement bags
