The Easy Steamer Deluxe MCE6600 adds a hose and hand tool to Dirt Devil's basic Easy Steamer model. The added cost for this new feature is about $20. While it allows easier cleaning of furniture, stairs, auto upholstery, and other small soiled areas, this model offers no upgraded features for carpeting, though it has a larger motor and wider cleaning path. At best, this model is useful for grooming lightly soiled carpets. Serious soil and nasty pet stains are usually beyond its capability. The lack of an onboard water heater accounts for some of this lack. But, even machines with onboard heaters can only accomplish so much on serious soil. Less expensive than a machine with a heater, the MCE6600 offers a budget solution with a budget result. If your intent is to clean your carpets occasionally between professional shampoos, this model could prove to be somewhat helpful. Small spills and soil on sofa arms and the like may also reap some benefit from this model. For better results, look to a larger, more powerful model that keeps water hot and steer away from this rather anemic relative.
