Directed Electronics Viper 160XV remote car starter
Date Published: 5/19/08
The advantage of a remote car starter like Directed Electronics' Viper 16XV is evident every bitterly cold or steamy hot morning. The Viper 160XV has a host of advanced features, such as the ability to be programmed with a Bitwriter for ESP control, including GPS tracking through an upgraded telephone remote control.
The 160VX is compatible with gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions. Like most other remote starters, it has a starter kill-switch that turns off the engine if any pedals are pressed or the transmission is shifted without the key in the ignition. You can program how long you want the engine to run, with settings of 12, 24, and 60 minutes (using Bitwriter, you can select any time between 0 and 60 minutes). The operating range of this remote starter is excellent, at up to a quarter of a mile away.
The Viper 160XV comes with a pair of four-button remotes, and the buttons can be configured to your own personal requirements. Horn honk, car locater, remote panic, defroster activation, and parking light flash are just a few of the functions you can set up. Once you install the Viper 160XV remote car starter, you'll wonder how you ever got going without it.Warranty
