Directed Audio A1004 auto amplifier
Date Published: 1/9/08
The Directed Audio A1004 is a four-channel amplifier that can be customized for just about any audio situation.
The A1004 uses a BitWriter interface that can be used to control presets that include turn-on delay, gain limits, controls for an external fan, service codes, and security settings (Directed Audio makes a line of security systems that interface directly with the A1004).
The A1004 is a full-range MOSFET amplifier that can be configured for stereo, mono, and even subwoofer applications. It is CEA 2006-compliant, producing 85 watts into four channels at 4 ohms with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20,000Hz.
The system has crossover filters with a 12dB/octave slope that range from 50Hz to 500Hz. There is an 8dB bass boost centered at 42Hz. For a more flashy installation, there is a connection for an optional LED light bar, or it can be used for a more functional cooling fan.
The Directed Audio A1004 is a very flexible system, especially when users take full advantage of the BitWriter technology.
