Part of Deni's Giovanna Italy line, the Healthy Hand Blender 4401 is an efficient and easy-to-use appliance that does an excellent job mixing dressings and light sauces, blending frothy milkshakes, pureeing cooked vegetables and more. The unit consists of a slim 13.5-inch blending rod, and clear plic 16-ounce measuring/mixing container with easy-pour lid.

The contoured handle narrows at the top where the thumb-operated control switch is located. A simple press-and-release motion starts and stops the motor, which spins the small blade at the other end. The thin design lets you immerse the blade stem directly into just about any container that you happen to be working with -- even a tall milkshake glass. Deeper containers work best, however, since the depth allows room for lifting and lowering the hand blender, thus providing the most efficient blending.

The handle is also coated with a non-slip surface so it's easy to maintain a firm grasp. The measuring/mixing container accommodates up to 16 ounces and has markings to designate 4-ounce, 8-ounce, 12-ounce and 16-ounce measurements. The flip-back lid is handy for pouring directly from the container or, when fully closed, for sealing and saving leftovers. A hanging hook on the power shaft lets you hang the unit in a pantry or cupboard for hideaway storage.
