The Deni Electric Stone Grill 8300 is a raclette-style grill, with a raised granite stone cooking surface and eight individual mini trays for melting cheese or heating dipping sauces.
This appliance is not only extremely efficient but it is also versatile. The thick stone cooking surface heats in a matter of minutes and is well suited for preparing a variety of foods, including grilled vegetables, shrimp, garlic toast, chicken, beef, pork and more. The 8x14-inch stone is also perfectly suited for preparing a small pizza, mini pizza bites, or even grilled desserts, such as fruit kabobs.
The Deni Electric Stone Grill has an adjustable temperature control, which can be set to low (for warming or light toasting) or high (for cooking meats and vegetables). The unit's heating element is located just below the stone, and is raised up so that the supplied mini trays can be placed underneath. A lower shelf has built-in indentations that hold the mini trays in position. Special wide handles on the trays provide easy access and prevent scorched fingers.
The unit also comes with eight wooden spatulas, which can be distributed to family members or guests so they can participate in the grilling fun. The stone grill is designed so it can be placed in the center of a table (provided that there is access to an electrical outlet) or counter with guests seated on both sides.
The Electric Stone Grill can be used for cooking a variety of foods, but it really shines when it comes to making mini hors d'oeuvre, which can then be dipped in a sauce that was heated in the mini tray. Since each guest has his or her own spatula and tray, they can prepare a number of different sauces and customize their dining experience.
The supplied granite stone is non-porous, withstands high temperatures and requires very little maintenance. The only cleaning that is recommended is to soak and rinse in warm water. Before first use, you do need to "season" the stone by rubbing it with vegetable oil and baking it in the oven for two hours. This prepares the surface for use. The grey stone quickly darkens as it absorbs oils from the foods; this actually enhances its cooking ability.
The Deni Electric Stone Grill 8300 is a fun, efficient appliance, which can be used for family-style cooking or entertaining guests.
