Delta Jenny Lind Crib

Date Published: 8/3/07

Are you searching for a practical crib that won't bust your budget? If so, then the Delta Jenny Lind Crib is worth a look. In fact, the Delta Jenny Lind has two features that some cribs that are double its price don't have: Double drop sides and the ability to convert to a toddler bed and daybed.

The drop sides are easy to operate from either side and offer quiet operation, which is a must-have feature if you want a newborn that is sleeping to continue to do so. And because it is a conversion crib, this is one purchase that will last long after those baby days and will serve a useful purpose well into a child's toddler years.

The Delta Jenny Lind Crib is easy to assemble as a crib or a toddler bed (no tools required) and has locking casters. We noticed a strong paint odor upon opening the box, but exposing the crib to air helped the smell dissipate quickly. The crib's paint and lacquer are non-toxic, and the rails have a clear plastic chew guard, which will come in handy as a baby starts teething.

The bed's airy design doesn't appear as sturdy as some solid wood models, but perhaps that's because competitors are weighed down with hefty price tags. In fact, one of the Jenny Lind Crib's rivals offers similar features and is priced at about $600, nearly six times the cost of the Delta crib.

As a word of warning, you have to like the Jenny Lind style (turned spindles) to truly appreciate this crib's beauty. That said, though, you just can't beat the Delta Jenny Lind Crib's price for what it offers. In fact, if you have the budget, this crib is an ideal buy for a grandparent's home and is much safer than out-of-date heirloom cribs.

Pros: Two drop sides, easy to assemble, converts to toddler bed and daybed
Cons: Doesn't convert to full-size bed

Warranty
1 year, limited
