Dacor Millenia MCS130 electric oven

Date Published: 1/23/08

The 30-inch Dacor Millenia MCS130 electric oven is an excellent-performing oven that boasts the ability to bake on up to six racks at one time. The catch to doing so is that this oven comes with only three racks. In order to get the full advantage of six-rack baking, you'll need to add three accessory racks to the already hefty price of this model.

Unless you plan on preparing immense quantities of thin foods such as pizzas or cookies, the likelihood of ever using six racks at one time is unlikely. Much of what is commonly prepared in American homes is too large to fit in more than two or three racks at a time. But should you need of all these racks, Dacor is unique in offering this option.

Regardless of how many racks you buy, you will have the option of six different rack positions. All these rack positions make it easy to arrange foods of varying sizes for baking and filling the oven to optimal capacity. Three racks or six racks, we have no problem with the outstanding convection system that this oven boasts. Differing from many fan-only convection models, the MCS130 has a third heating element that adds to the performance of the convection. Dacor's convection system does an outstanding job of distributing oven heat for the ultimate in even baking or roasting.

Additional high-quality features just add further to the appeal of this oven. Our favorites are the use of bright halogen for lighting, a full 3000-watt element for professional-quality broiling and a temperature probe that guarantees safe and accurate preparation of meats by internal temperature.

In addition to the 30-inch MCS130, Dacor offers the 27-inch MCS127, which are identically featured and available in stainless steel, black or white. An excellent oven, the Dacor MCS130 is a superior performer and a great buy in the luxury oven category.

Pros: Excellent even baking provided by third element convection, halogen lighting, high powered broiler likened to commercial equipment
Cons: Has six rack positions but comes with only three racks
