The Cuisinart Traditional Cordless Electric Kettle RK-17 combines the classic elegance that defines Cuisinart with durability, ease of operation and straightforward practicality in a tea kettle.
With a vintage look to its shapely contours, the 18/10 polished stainless-steel kettle measures 7-1/2 inches in diameter at its base tapering up to its 3-1/4-inch lid. Its thick 1-inch black base stays absolutely cool to the touch and is safe for placement on virtually any surface. A shapely 6-inch spout makes for easy dripless pouring, and the ergonomically shaped stainless-steel handle, featuring a comfortable stay-cool grip, locks easily into its upright position for pouring or folds slightly down to either side for easier removal of the lid.
The kettle itself is completely cordless and holds up to 1-3/4 quarts of water -- enough for six generously sized mugs of your favorite tea, hot chocolate or instant soups. To boil water, however, requires the 7-1/2-inch diameter, plug-in base. Brushed black to match the kettle base and handles, the 1-inch flat base unit sits securely on four non-skid tabs. A 3-foot cord allows flexible placement on counter or tabletop and provides convenient wraparound storage so you can unwind only as much cord as you need.
The kettle fits readily into place on the base and a simple depression of the single power switch starts the heating process. An indicator light illuminates when the kettle is on and a full kettle reaches a boil in less than 5 minutes. We especially liked the auto-shutoff feature. Once water has boiled, the unit shuts off automatically to ensure that you never boil your kettle dry. Another nice feature is the inner screen that filters any particles from your water while pouring. The screen slides out for easy cleaning.
Quick, efficient and easy to use as well as stylish and elegant in design, the Traditional Cordless Electric Kettle RK-17 is Classic Cuisinart, and sure to please even the most discerning kitchen connoisseur.
