The unit consists of a 9x12-inch bottom grill plate, which is mounted on two wide platform feet. A separate top grilling plate is attached to a sturdy handle via a floating hinge so that it comes to rest on top of the foods, allowing for variation in thicknesses. Opening and closing the grill is effortless and your fingers stay well clear of the heated surfaces. Deep grooved plates keep foods raised, while fats drain away. The unit also comes with a free-standing grease/drip cup and a cleaning/scraping tool, which helps remove stubborn food residue.

An adjustable thermostat dial has settings for low, medium, and high. A power light glows red to show that the unit is heating. In about 5 minutes, or less, the light turns green to indicate that the Griddler is ready to use.
