Cub Cadet 31AH5LTT710 Snow Thrower

Date Published: 9/24/07

With a 10-hp engine, the Cub Cadet 31AH5LTT710 moves right along, even when the snow gets fairly deep. We especially like this machine for use in climates in which snow gets heavy and wet; the 31AH5LTT710 can keep up in these adverse conditions because of its substantial power and large components. And when the snow does get deep, the 28-inch wide clearing path, combined with the 21-inch intake, can handle the bulk without slowing you to a standstill. Even better, heavy, wet snow will rarely clog this hefty model.

Adding to the bulk and performance of this MTD-made model are a 12-inch auger and a 12-inch impeller, which allow this machine to chip easily through tough ice and heavy snow.

This Cub Cadet model is equipped with a quick-to-respond electric start and can also be pull started. Although it is a large machine, this machine is easy to operate -- so easy, in fact, that we recommend this model over smaller machines, especially for women and those who are small in stature. The all-wheel drive eliminates much of the pushing, pulling and maneuvering that are sometimes required in order to operate a small, under-powered snow blower.

Chute pitch is remotely controlled and conveniently located at your fingertips. Rotating the chute requires stopping and using the crank to reposition. Six forward speeds and two reverse speeds allow you to adjust for snow depth, turn easily and back up in order to chip away at the ends of plowed-in driveways. A single in-dash headlight illuminates the work area and is especially helpful in places where there are no streetlights to light your path. Large tires roll easily along, even when the snow gets fairly deep.

You'll pay more for the privilege of owning this beefy snow blower, but there's not much that can slow down the Cub Cadet 31AH5LTT710. It is available from independent retailers and Tractor Supply Company.

Pros: Large clearing path and intake, clears quickly and handles deep and wet snow with ease, appropriate for climates with heavy snowfalls
Cons: More expensive than a wimpy machine, a big snow blower to store

Warranty
3 years, limited, residential; 1 year, commercial
