Although it is labeled an MP3 player, the Creative Zen Vision is much more than your ordinary digital audio device. Right off the bat, it's hard not to notice the beautiful 3-7/10-inch color TFT LCD display. To put it in simple terms, the Zen Vision is an MP3 player, portable video player and digital photo viewer, all combined into one attractive unit.
With its built-in 30GB hard drive, the Zen Vision can store thousands of music files, hours of movies and TV programming and thousands of JPEG files. Transferring files to the Zen Vision is simple and fast with its USB 2.0 port. The player also sports a CompactFlash memory card slot, making this an ideal storage device for holding digital photos while on vacation. You can purchase an adapter if your camera uses a different format.
The Zen Vision supports DivX TV show and movie downloads, and it is compliant with music subscription download websites. Video formats supported include AVI, DivX 4 and DivX 5, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4-SP, WMV9 and Motion JPEG. Still JPEG can be displayed in a slide show at a resolution of 640X480. On the audio side, the Zen Vision can handle MP3 and WMA files, and it will also play PCM WAV files.
For more listening options, the Zen Vision has a built-in FM tuner with 32 presets. The player will record directly from the FM tuner or the integrated voice recorder, with both sources stored in the MP3 format. The Zen Vision even has a calendar and customizable appointment lists.
The Zen Vision has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides up to 13 hours of music playback, although its longevity is shorter when viewing video. The frequency response is 20Hz to 20,000Hz, with a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 97dB through the headphone jack. The player even has a built-in speaker to let you share your music or watch a video with a friend.
