Craftsman Professional Laser Trac 12-Inch Compound Miter Saw 21235

The Craftsman Professional Laser Trac 12-Inch Compound Miter Saw 21235 is a clear improvement over its homeowner-grade models and previous versions of this tool.
The pro unit has dual bevel capability, enabling bevel cuts to the right or left without having to flip the work piece. The dual sliding fence ensures maximum support for your workpiece at whatever cut angle you are making. In addition, one set of extension bars, with an adjustable roller support, can be clamped to either side of the saw (a second set would have been nice). The quick-release clamp is substantial and releases with the press of your thumb.
Another feature not often found on homeowner-grade saws is a crown-molding stop. This feature is a big help in keeping the molding at the correct angle during compound cuts. A crown molding throat plate and stop block make cutting this type of trim easier as well.
The 21235, while not up to cutting the widths that a sliding miter saw can handle, will cut nominal 2x8s and 4x4s when set at 90 degrees. It will cut a full 2x6 at 45 degrees.
We found that its 15-amp motor delivers plenty of torque for cutting heavy lumber. Finally, Craftsman's Laser Trac cutting guide speeds blade alignment to your mark for accurate cuts.
The Craftsman Miter Saw 21235 sports a redesigned dust collection system for significantly improved performance and a 2-1/2-inch dust port for hookup to a wet/dry vac.
