The Craftsman 22124 is a 10-inch unit that offers features found on industrial cabinetmakers saws. Craftsman, with its long tradition of building reliable table saws, has introduced a professional-quality saw that is head and shoulders above its previous offerings.

It includes a fan-cooled motor that's enclosed in a steel cabinet to reduce noise and improve dust collection, and a smooth-operating and very accurate Biesemeyer commercial fence system. This system is a pleasure to use when making fine adjustments and allows 30-inch-wide rips of large sheet goods, such as plywood. Another clever design improvement is the substantial cast-iron motor and arbor supports (called trunnions), bolted to the cabinet, not the tabletop. This is a superior feature that makes blade adjustments easier thereby improving accuracy of cuts.

We also found blade removal to be easily negotiated with two wrenches (instead of one-wrench types that require blocking the blade with scrap wood).

The top-of-the-line Craftsman 22124 comes with a high-quality 40-tooth variable-pitch carbide-tipped Leitz blade, and a rear extension support is invaluable when ripping long work pieces.
