Craftsman Portable Air Compressor 15310
Date Published: 5/6/05
Craftsman's new 3-gallon, 1.5-horsepower horizontal-track compressor is designed for light-duty homeowner use.
It's compact, weighs only 38 pounds, and can be carried to the job without too much strain. Oil lubricated, it's slightly quieter than non-oil lubricated units.
The unit features a cast-iron cylinder for durability, quick-connects for fast attaching and detaching of tools, two gauges, an oil-level sight glass, and large rubber feet for stability. It includes a 17-piece starter kit of accessories, including an air hose, blow gun, and spare quick connects. Tire chucks are also included with this model.
We found the Craftsman 15310's primary use to be inflating tires and nailing. It can also be used for light-duty nut and bolt assembly with a 3/8-inch ratchet wrench, utility spray painting, and stapling (you'll need to buy the accessories separately). When used with a nailer air tool--such as Craftsman's 18214--the Craftsman 15310 unit can also be used for installing interior trim and paneling, and exterior siding and fencing--any job that can be done with nails 2.5 inches or less in length.
