While this task can be done with a drill press and the appropriate chisel bit, the 21907--with its long feed handle, deep feed, and micro-adjustable fence--makes the job a lot easier. It is equipped with a powerful 1/2-hp continuous-duty motor with a maximum stroke of 5 inches. It comes with a column extension for mortising taller work pieces on the machine base, or the machine can be mounted 180 degrees rotated on the base to work on any size work piece in wood up to 5-1/4 inches thick.

The unit runs at one speed (1,750 rpm) on 120-volt power. There is a tool and bit holder mounted on the column for quick access and convenient storage. The unit comes with four chisel and bit sets, ranging from 1/4 to 1/2 inch, and a 2-1/4-inch riser block.
