Electric mowers are wonders for their quiet operation, and this Craftsman is no exception. It has an eight-position single touch lever to raise or lower cutting levels, from 1-1/4 inches (low) to 3-1/2 inches (high). The 19-inch blade is located inside a mulching deck, the handle folds, and the polymer deck is rust-proof (and quieter than metal decks). The mower is sold with a 1.8-bushel rear bag, as well as the mulching deck, but an optional kit converts it to side discharge. The 120-volt engine draws 12 amps, which means you need to be within about 100 feet of an outlet to use this machine. Also, electric outdoor-use tools that require extension cords should only be used in dry conditions. Tires are semi-pneumatic, 7x1-3/4 inches in front and 8x1-3/4 inches at the rear. For times and neighborhoods where quiet operation is a help, this mower can't be beat.
