When the Ventura DX is used for children weighing 22 to 40 pounds, the five-point harness should be used. After the 40-pound mark, the Ventura DX converts to a high-back belt-positioning booster. The shoulder belt guides can be put in one of two positions. We are pleased to discover the belt guides work well; they keep the vehicle's safety belt in place and away from tender skin.

The Cosco Ventura DX High Back Booster Car Seat is very user-friendly. We find the seat provides an ergonomic ride for its passenger, and the padded armrests are a comfortable addition. The sides of the seat are winged and adequately support a child's head when napping. The fabric is gender neutral and complements the Cosco Ventura DX High Back Booster's streamlined design. There are a few extras we like, such as a cup holder and a storage space for small items like toys or snacks. Although we like the cup holder, it is also a source of complaint: It only fits on the left side. Still, it can be removed if needed. Overall, the Cosco Ventura DX is a stylish car seat that can accommodate a child for several years -- at a price most people can afford.
