Compass T730 Travel System
Date Published: 6/14/07
The Compass T730 Travel System is a cheerful-looking stroller and infant car seat combo. It costs a bit more than the basic models, but certainly not as much as luxury travel systems. We wondered, at such a middle-of-the-road price point, how would this travel system perform?
The Compass T730 Travel System includes the S330 Stroller. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver. It weighs just 1 pounds and has many of the same features as more expensive models. It has multiple recline positions, including a lie-flat position that is great for napping infants. It has the amount of underseat storage we've come to expect -- not enough to weigh the stroller down, but still adequate for storing a diaper bag. One feature we love is the rotating handle. Not only is the handle height adjustable, but it also can be adjusted for distance. This is a particularly great feature for long-legged parents who are tired of hitting their shins on the back of strollers. The stroller has a simple one-hand fold. It touts a one-hand unfold feature, but we found we sometimes needed two hands to get the job done. We like the parent's console, child tray, as well as the drink holders.
The Compass T730 Travel System comes with the Compass I-410 Infant Car Seat and a leave-in-car base. The car seat cannot be used in a vehicle without the base. The base is relatively easy to install, and the car seat snaps into the base or the matching stroller with ease. With an EPS foam liner and deep side wings, the car seat cradles infants in a comfortable -- and safe -- position.
Overall, the Compass T730 Travel System is a solid performer at a decent price. If we could change anything, we'd make the stroller wheels larger, fill them with air and add a suspension system for a smoother ride.
Pros: Price, lightweight stroller, convenient system
Cons: Stroller has small wheels, no suspension
