Casio CW-L300 label writer

Date Published: 6/8/06

Versatility is the strong suit of Casio's CW-L300 label writer. This unit can print standard labels like all other label writers, but it also can use its thermal transfer technology to print directly onto a CD or DVD, giving it a unique capability.

The CW-L300 can use a few different type sizes, ranging from 1/4 to 1 inch. This label writer's 48-character LCD is very handy, allowing you to easily format your labels while minimizing mistakes.

The CW-L300 offers five different fonts, and it can connect to a Windows computer for more printing options. The print speed on labels for the CW-L300 is a little below average at 6.3 mm per second, although it prints faster on discs, at speeds around 9 mm per second.

The CW-L300 can run from eight AA batteries or from an AC adapter, which, unlike most units, is included. This makes the label writer's almost $200 price tag a little easier to accept.
