For those who prefer the taste of traditional brewed coffee but love the authentic creamy blend of cappuccinos and lattes, the Capresso CoffeeTEC (pronounced coffee teck) 471,  provides the solution. This machine brews 10 cups of automatic-drip coffee into a stainless-steel vacuum carafe and also froths milk for foamy cafe-style coffee drinks.

The Capresso CoffeeTEC consists of a black power base with swing-out cone-shaped filter holder, reusable gold-tone filter, 10-cup removable water tank with easy-to-read measurement markings, and patented frothXpress system. A combination of pushbutton and dial controls provides a range of options, including on, off, auto, timer, and steam. A digital display panel shows the time of day and can be programmed to automatically begin the brew cycle at a pre-determined time. Indicator lights alert you to which function is activated.

Additional features include a 3-5 cup button for brewing smaller batches, pause-to-serve, and auto-shutoff after two hours. The stainless-steel carafe does an excellent job keeping the brewed coffee hot and ready to drink for up to 4 hours.

The frothXpress attachment consists of a free-standing plastic milk container with lid, siphoning straw, frothing sleeve, and connectors. Once connected, the frothXpress can be used to automatically dispense warm frothed milk directly into a cup or pitcher. The steam for frothing is generated by a powerful pump and heating system, which works like a siphon, pulling milk out of the container and frothing it as it dispenses. The versatile frothXpress can also be used to make a creamy cup of hot cocoa by adding chocolate syrup to the milk before frothing.

It is important to clean the frothXpress system thoroughly after each use. While some of the plastic parts are dishwasher safe, it is best to rinse all removable parts under warm running water.

Since the brew and steam functions of the Capresso CoffeeTEC 471 operate independently of each other, you can brew coffee and froth milk in succession without waiting for a shift in temperature.
