The Canon EOS Rebel T2 is one of the smallest truly full-featured AF SLR cameras.

A seven-point high-speed, wide-area selective autofocus functions accurately even for off-center subjects. The focus area points are around the center of the viewfinder, one of which lights to indicate the exact one in use or you can set which single one of the focus areas you want to use. A 35-zone metering can be changed to center-weighted or spot metering when desired.

There is advanced E-TTL flash metering capability plus a far-larger-than-usual LCD information panel on the back. A protrusion on the right front makes it possible to use secure one-handed gripping and shooting. The primary mode control dial, with secure detents, is on the top where it's very easy to see and quickly adjust.

Additional automatic functions are set by another control dial on the back beside the LCD, which can be illuminated for easier veiwing in dim lighting. The viewfinder is large and bright with an operating information display below the focusing screen. It uses a film prewind so the film returns to the cassette as it is exposed for quicker final rewind after the last exposure and minimal fogging of exposed film if accidentally opened.

Test exposures were exceptionally sharply detailed with precise focus at different subject distances and focal lengths on the Canon 35-135mm lens used. Subjects indoors in low light levels and outdoors were equally well exposed. The tiny pop-up built-in flash evenly covered the field and produced correct exposures when used as the prime light source and when used as fill outdoors.

Although at first glance it appears similar to the Rebel K2, the Canon EOS Rebel T2  has an enhanced selection of powerful features plus expanded shooting modes for more versatility.
