Brother MFC-5840CN multifunction office machine

For a multifunction device that's aimed at budget-conscious users, the MFC-5840CN from Brother offers some distinctive and helpful features.

One of the best is its two paper trays, one with a 250-sheet capacity and another with 100 sheets. The MFC-5840CN also can accept flash memory cards to allow for direct photo printing.

The unit's fax feature can send messages at speeds up to 20 ppm and can store up to 480 pages in memory. For big copying jobs, the MFC-5840CN has a 35-page automatic document feeder, as well as a flatbed surface for smaller copying jobs.

The copier can resize the original at between 25% and 400%. The MFC-5840CN's scanner can run at a resolution up to 1200x2400 dpi and works with both Windows and Macintosh computers.

The Brother MFC-5840CN's color inkjet print function can print at speeds up to 20 ppm in black and 15 ppm in color. It has a resolution of 6000x1200 dpi, which works well for printing digital photos.
