Brother's IntelliFax 2440C desktop fax machine provides all of the basic fax capabilities you'd expect to find in a budget-priced unit, along with a few extra features you might not expect to find. However, if you're looking for top-of-the-line features in a desktop fax, you probably will want to look elsewhere.

The IntelliFax 2440C can send documents at speeds up to 10 ppm, which isn't quite as fast as some other higher-priced units. This desktop fax offers 8MB of memory and can store up to 300 pages in memory, if the IntelliFax 2440C's 100-sheet paper tray is empty. The IntelliFax 2440C also has only a 10-sheet automatic document feeder. All of these features are about what you'd expect to find in a budget-priced desktop fax, but are below average when compared to all models, regardless of price point.

You can use the IntelliFax 2240C as a makeshift color inkjet printer, and the unit's built-in answering machine and telephone handset means it can replace your desk's telephone, if needed.
