Britax Monarch E9053E9 Booster Car Seat

Date Published: 3/7/07

The Britax Monarch Booster Car Seat performs like a champion, and has the style to match. In coordinating red and black fabrics with silver accents, the Britax Monarch is a beauty. This car seat's winsome features, however, are more than meets the eye. Energy-absorbing EPS foam lining is topped by three layers of padding to provide a comfortable ride, no matter the length of the journey.

One feature we particularly like: the "wings" surrounding the head and torso areas. Known as TSIP (True Side Impact Protection), this innovative feature has wings that cocoon a child's head, shoulders and torso. If an impact occurs, this enhanced side impact protection spreads the force over a larger area and reduces the risk of serious injury. Plus, the Britax Monarch's deep-seated shell helps protect a child from additional trauma caused by the vehicle itself. This belt-positioning booster is very easy to use. It has color-coded belt route guides and a headrest that can be adjusted with just one hand -- this eliminates the need to crawl in the backseat and wrestle with the car seat. The Britax Monarch Booster also converts to a backless booster.

The Britax Monarch fits children 38 to 60 inches in height, weighing 30 to 100 pounds. It has a washable fabric cover, soft-touch armrests that can be expanded, and slide-out cup holders. Overall, the Britax Monarch offers a chic ride with plenty of important safety features to back it up.

Pros: EPS foam, enhanced side impact protection
Cons: Costs more than some of its competitors

Warranty
1 year, limited
