The car seat base is effortlessly adjustable and can accommodate nearly any angle of vehicle seat, thanks to a dial on the front of the base that changes the height.

The Britax Companion Infant Car Seat has a patented anti-rebound bar attached to the base. When you secure the car seat to the base, it has a very tight fit. The anti-rebound bar is designed to prevent the car seat from buckling or flipping, and hitting the vehicle seat it is facing. Another innovative feature is an expanded head support system. Britax calls this system True Side Impact Protection (TSIP), and it features head support that goes around the sides and top of a baby's head. This three-sided head pad has adjustable, air-filled pockets that expand for a customized fit. The pads inflate via a hidden pump that activates when the user squeezes the top center of the head pad. The car seat is lined with energy-absorbing EPS foam.

The Britax Companion Infant Car Seat has a five-point harness with fabric covers where the harness comes into contact with baby. The harness is very easy to adjust and can be adjusted from the front without rethreading the harness straps.
