The Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Park Avenue E9L5711 pays plenty of attention to safety and convenience features. Plus, it has the style to match, thanks to coordinating fabric in slate blue solids and stripes.
The Britax Boulevard, as the name implies, is a convertible car seat. This means it can be used as a rear-facing car seat for children weighing 5 to 33 pounds, and it can be used as a forward-facing for children at least one year old and up to 65 pounds. This car seat is large, so it's probably a good idea to keep its size in mind if one drive's a compact car.
We like the Britax Boulevard's TSIP feature, which is short for "True Side Impact Protection." This means the Britax Boulevard in Park Avenue has a shaped insert that includes EPS foam-lined wings on each side. This TSIP insert can be adjusted to fit an individual child by simply turning a dial. Plus, the Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Park Avenue has a patented Versa-Tether system that provides an additional anchor for the top of the car seat and helps minimize movement during impact. A pushbutton release LATCH system makes the Britax Boulevard one of the easiest to install car seat's we've encountered.
The Britax Boulevard in Park Avenue has a five-point harness with wide straps that are not prone to twisting. The harness has a built-in chest clip and we like the HUGS (Harness Ultra Guard) system designed to reduce head movement during impact. The HUGS system also helps parents correctly position the harness' chest clip. Thanks to a front adjuster that allows parents to easily loosen or tighten the harness, there's no need to remove the car seat to adjust the harness. The seat has an integrated toddler head pillow and a removable infant body pillow. The cover is comfy and, we are happy to note, it is machine washable.
The Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Park Avenue gets high marks for its safety features, convenient operation and stylish design.
