The Breadman Ultimate DREAMachine is a state-of-the-art machine with a number of exceptional features. The first thing you'll notice about this machine is there are no control buttons. Instead, this unit has a touch-activated LCD screen, which lets you access any of the ten basic bread programs--but that's just the beginning. You can choose traditional programs such as white, French, or wheat bread, or you can select from six more "Personal Baker" cycles to achieve professional results with your own ingredients, baking times, and temperatures. Guidelines are provided, but you can vary every aspect to suit your own personal needs or preferences. The DREAMachine even has a basic recipe stored in memory (along with nutritional information) for each of the bread programs. The touch-activated screen prompts you every step of the way, so you select the loaf size (1.5-pound, 2-pound, or a large 2.5-pound horizontal loaf), and crust color (light, medium, or dark). If you are in a hurry, you can select the Rapid program, which shaves about an hour off the breadmaking process, or the Super Rapid program, which completes in about an hour. A unique feature is the Sour Dough cycle, which lets you mix starter ingredients together and then ferment them in a warm environment for 48 hours prior to breadmaking. Other features include a 60-minute power failure backup, a Pause function, and a 24-hour clock/timer. You can also use the DREAMachine to make dough or homemade jam.
