This unit has a 10x12-inch nonstick cooking surface with 1/4-inch ridges that sear the bread as it cooks your sandwiches. The heavy weighted lid has a floating hinge to accommodate hearty overstuffed sandwiches as well as thinner grilled cheese.

Green and red indicator lights signal that the unit is operating and when the correct preheated temperature has been reached. There is only one temperature so there's no dial or probe to worry about. Just plug it in and it starts heating. For best results, you should brush the outside slices of bread with a little oil or butter. Cooking sprays are not recommended.
