Bowflex Sport Home Gym

Date Published: 5/22/06

The Bowflex Sport has a lot to recommend it as a home gym. This is the least expensive of the Bowflex models but uses the same power rod resistance of the more expensive models and offers over 60 different exercises.

The cables on this home gym operate smoothly and, with the exception of abdominal exercises, the Sport has everything to provide you with a full body workout. The machine comes with a leg attachment built in as well as an effective lat attachment for toning the lower back. It also doubles as a rowing machine, which is very handy if you have no cardio equipment in your home gym.

While the weight resistance on the Sport tops out at 210 lbs., Bowflex offers a 100lb. upgrade for this home gym for an additional $99.

If you're used to working out with plate stack machines then the Bowflex Sport Home Gym will undoubtedly take a little getting used to. It takes longer to adjust the weight but the power rod system is much quieter than using a weight stack, an important consideration if you live in an apartment or condo.
