Boston Acoustics Avidea 610 home theater system

Date Published: 1/8/08

The Avidea 610 is a great-sounding home theater system. Boston Acoustics has long been known as a manufacturer of exceptional speakers, so you know you can't go wrong when the company marries this knowledge with a comprehensive home theater control center.

The Avidea 610 combines four identical satellite speakers, a center-channel speaker, a powered subwoofer, and a main control unit. The main unit houses a progressive scan DVD player that is compatible with DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, VCD, audio CD, and CD-R/RW, as well as MP3, WMA, and JPEG files stored on CD.

The main unit also contains the amplifier and processors for Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro Logic II. Finally, the Avidea 610 has a digital AM/FM receiver that can store up to 40 stations in preset memory.

Each of the four satellites uses a 3-inch midrange driver and a 3/4-inch tweeter. The center channel has the same drivers in a horizontal configuration. All five speakers are magnetically shielded. The subwoofer utilizes an impressive 12-inch driver pushed by an integrated 200-watt amplifier, producing a huge bass sound.

With an accurate high-end and thunderous bass response, the Boston Acoustics Avidea 610 is a very impressive home theater system.

Warranty
1 year main control unit, 5 years speakers and subwoofer
