Bose QuietComfort 2 Noise-Canceling Headphones

Date Published: 6/16/05

As you might expect from the Bose name, the QuietComfort 2 are excellent-sounding headphones. However, they are most noteworthy because of their acoustic noise-canceling circuitry. When switched on, the drone of jet engines or other ambient noises is greatly reduced, making it even easier to listen to your favorite music or movies.

The QuietComfort 2 headphones are the next generation of this technology. Circuitry that was previously placed in an external plastic case has been moved into the headphones themselves. This makes the headphones easier to use and avoids some cord tangling. There is a single detachable audio cable that lets you jack into portable players, home stereos and in-flight entertainment systems, and a high/low switch adjusts the amplification setting.

The padded headband provides up to 3 inches of adjustment length, and a flashing light indicates low battery power. If you only want to wear the headphones for noise reduction and not for listening to music, you don't even need to attach the cable. Moreover, the new design folds flat, which is a great feature for travelers. Best of all, these lightweight headphones provide excellent sound quality, with deep bass response, natural midrange and smooth high-end.

These headphones are incredibly comfortable, so if headphones have always hurt your ears after a while, try these on. The Bose QuietComfort2 headphones will feel as great as they sound.
