The Blaupunkt ODw1000 subwoofer is an award-winning design innovation, and it's unlike just about every other subwoofer out there. Using "Saucer" technology, the ODw1000 is a 10-inch subwoofer that is remarkably thin in size, but not in sound.

This revolutionary engineering feat means that a sub can now be mounted in spaces that were previously off limits, such as door panels, under flooring, tailgates, kick plates--almost anywhere imaginable. Although the depth requirement is reduced, there is still the issue of air volume, as the subwoofer needs an enclosure to produce the proper amount of sound.

The ODw1000 uses stressed aluminum over a foam core to provide a fast, tight, solid response, even though there isn't a conventional cone. The unit does employ a 2-inch, four-layer voice coil.
